Our summer program begins on June 11 this year. Camp activities: 9:00a.m. until 4:00p.m. Extended Hours: 7:00a.m. until 5:45p.m.
Preschool Ages 3-5
The year-round preschool offers both regular and extended hours and combines the best features of a good American preschool with Montessori education. Through play, the children try new roles, make decisions, relate to others, and express themselves. Younger children join the older campers for field trips, swimming and cookouts when appropriate.
Summer Day Camp Ages 5—14
The Children's House day camp provides weekly themed activities in a relaxing environment free of competition. Day camp activities include arts and crafts, drama, ceramics, recreational swimming, field trips, reading and outdoor games. Enrollment for day camp is limited to 20 children.
Session One Themed Weeks
6/11-6/15: When Nature Calls - We will be hiking, tracking animals and learning about Indiana vegetation.
6/18-6/22: Flights of Fancy - From soaring kites to hand crafting airplanes our campers imaginations will take flight.
6/25-6/29: Creative Batiking - Campers will learn to hand dye beautiful patterns and bring home their creations.
7/2-7-6 (closed 7/4): Honor Our Country - Learn about and celebrate Americas birthday through art and outdoor activities.
7/9-7/13: Writer's Workshop - Campers will write, illustrate, and create their very own pieces of literature.
Session Two Themed Weeks
7/16-7/20: Birds, Birds, and More Birds - Bring your binoculars and cameras to study many of the indigenous birds of Indiana.
7/23-7/27: Puppets Galore -
Campers with an eye for design will enjoy
puppet making and creating plays.
7/30-8/3: Arts and Entertainment -
Imaginations go wild with clay, water colors,
and performance arts, puppets may appear.
8/6-8/10: Safety First - Fun ways to be safe in the home, out in nature, and on the road.
8/13-8/17: Down on the Farm - Campers will visit and learn about life on the farm and take a trip to the state fair.
