Field Trip – Strawtown Koteewi Park – Sept. 23

Filed under: Field Trips — Children's House @ 3:05 pm

K-8 will be going to an archaeological dig at Strawtown Koteewi Park on September 23rd.

The dig has a tour for the children, & we will be looking at Native American artifacts from around 1100-1300 AD. We will also be going on nature walks in the park before the tour.

This is an all day event & we will be eating in the park. Please make sure that your child’s lunch does not need to be microwaved that day.

On this same note we have sent out field trip forms to be signed and turned back in. These will need to be returned to the school before the field trip on Wednesday, or your child will not be able to attend.

If you have any questions please call Abigail Louden at the school. (317) 253-3033.

Students need a disposable lunch for this field trip.

All students also need to have a permission trip signed & turned in for this school year, in order to participate in this event.

The science room has adopted a new goldfish, Dorthy. She is in a small, one gallon tank & would love a little plastic plant.

If anyone has one they would like to donate to her bowl, she would be very grateful.

Science Class “I Wonder” Jar

We have an ongoing event called “I Wonder” Jar. This is a jar where the students can put science questions that they may have.

Every Friday we are picking one question from the jar & the students have the week to think about it & ask family & friends their opinions.

The question for this week is:

I wonder why dogs bark?

We are encouraging parents to ask your children what the “I Wonder” question is every Friday.
